This little piece of lichen was rubbed off a tree as my son was climbing it. I tucked it into my pocket and forgot it there. Seasons changed and beforeI knew it summer had come and I put the coat into the wardrobe for the season. This fall I pulled the coat out and put it on. While on a walk that afternoon I slipped my hand into my pocket to find this lovely little hitchhiker. It is well traveled across Maine. It’s hard to tell where exactly I brought this lovely piece of lichen.
